An independent record of OpenAI Codex resets

How to find your OpenAI Codex reset time

Your account is the source for your own reset time. Open the usage view for your ChatGPT plan, or use /status in the Codex CLI. Copy the time shown there into a personal timer on this site if a countdown helps you plan. The timer stays in this browser; it does not connect to your account or confirm that a reset occurred.

Why there is no universal date here

Codex allowances differ by plan and offer. A weekly limit, a shorter usage window, and an extra reset are different things. An individual account’s displayed time can change when its allowance or eligibility changes. The official guidance also says banked resets can affect the weekly reset date. A date inferred from someone else’s account or a past announcement is therefore unreliable for yours.

Check the right limit

Read the label beside the limit in your account view. If you use the CLI, inspect /status for the current allowance and reset time. Check again when your plan, offer, or use changes. If the displayed value appears wrong, use OpenAI support rather than treating this site’s timer as account evidence.

Our reset history records manually verified public announcements. It does not record your personal allowance. The reset-card guide explains a separate kind of extra reset.

Set a private countdown

On the homepage, paste only the two quota lines into Status text and select Parse locally. Check the input time zone and the parsed date before saving each window. Relative durations and explicit ISO dates are supported; weekly times without a date and unfamiliar formats need manual correction. The example is a preview and never replaces saved timers. Use Discard changes to return to your saved values.

You can also enter the reset date and time as YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm, select the IANA time zone used by your account display, or enter the time remaining. Repeated daylight-saving clock times require an explicit UTC offset choice. Remaining percentage is optional and is a snapshot; the site cannot read subsequent usage.

After saving, choose a reminder 5, 15 or 30 minutes before the reset and download the calendar file. Import it into your calendar and enable calendar notifications. If the chosen reminder time has already passed, select a shorter lead time. Updating or clearing a timer here does not update an event already imported into your calendar.
